Credits

What things cost, and what happens when something fails.

Every generation costs credits. They are held before it runs and refunded if it fails, and the button always shows the price before you press it.

Resolution: 480p ×0.5, 720p ×1, 1080p ×2, 2k ×3.5, 4k ×6. Native audio bills at roughly double the silent rate — and the estimate on the button applies it too, so the price does not change when you press it.

Why it holds first

The alternative is charging on success, which lets a workspace queue a hundred jobs it cannot pay for. Holding first makes your balance mean what you can still spend, which is the only definition you can act on.

The hold happens after the checks that cost nothing and before anything irreversible — so a source image that is too small is refused before any credits move.

What happens when things fail

Not enough credits
Refused up front. Nothing is held and no job is created
Over a member cap
The same, with a message saying so
The provider fails
Refunded in full by the worker that failed it
Content was blocked
Refunded. A refusal is not a delivery
You double-clicked Generate
Collapsed into one job and charged once
You closed the tab
Nothing changes. The job keeps running and settles normally

The invariant

Every hold ends as either a settle or a refund. The ledger is append-only, so the answer to “why is my balance this number” is always readable in full.

Getting more

New accounts receive a starter grant. Beyond that, an administrator grants credits, and an owner can move credits between their own workspaces with Add credits on the Workspaces screen.

Self-service purchasing is not built yet

Credit packs exist in the system but there is no checkout. Ask an administrator.
